From Rock Bottom to Active Duty: Chris' Inspiring Battle with Depression

From Rock Bottom to Active Duty: Chris' Inspiring Battle with Depression - Raise The Standard Apparel

Meet Chris, a 27-year-old man from Chicago who has been battling with depression since childhood without even realizing it. For years, he struggled with feelings of sadness, emptiness, and hopelessness, and it wasn't until he found himself in a toxic relationship that he hit rock bottom. Chris was in a dark place and thought about ending everything.

However, in the midst of his struggle, Chris was fortunate enough to have a support system that he never knew he had. His best friend, family, and coworkers were all there for him when he needed them the most, and they refused to let him give up. With their unwavering support and encouragement, Chris was able to pull himself out of the darkness and into the light.

Today, Chris is living proof that there is hope, even in the darkest of moments. He's currently active duty and living in Colorado, and he's grateful for every day that he wakes up. Chris's advice to those who may be struggling with depression is to be open about what you're going through, no matter how difficult it may seem. He knows firsthand that it's easier said than done, but he also knows that having the right group of people to push you to open up can make all the difference.

Chris continues to surround himself with people he trusts and can talk to openly and honestly. Chris's story is a testament to the power of love, support, and perseverance. If you're struggling with depression, know that you're not alone, and there is always hope.

This is what we need right now. Great story. Great message. As another male that has had struggles with depression, suicidal thoughts, and alcoholism I know these struggles first hand. Chris thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your story. Finding this company has been a blessing for me and my journey. I get to see what others can do with their life and knowing we have a deeper purpose in life should give us all a better perspective. This too shall pass. Thank you for your service and story.

Chris stay strong I too was /am in a toxic relationship and I am only 34 . I am also finishing up my 3 rd round of chemo for ovarian cancer. I had always wanted a child of my own to be a mother . This last chemo treatment with Danna Farber has taken me to the deepest of lows but the second day I felt as those death may be coming to my door. I live alone with my pups but instead of letting it take me I got pissed filled with rage my father is Irish and a Marine and I embraced my Irish grit and stubbornness and dig deeper than I ever had. I literally screamed in my flat in Boston and said to today motherfu$ker not anytime soon I am stronger than this. I cried with anger and pain but dig deep and got the strength somehow.
I have my days but everyday I get up and am able to get out of bed and have my dogs out side I try to find the beauty in each day and solder on. I have a few days left of the worst medicine I have ever taken in my life but my last scan was clean and I thank god for that every day. The fight isn’t over and the depression is intense and real but you are not alone. Thank you for sharing this story. We are all capable of making the best out of our lives every moment is a gift and for me trying to find the good and the beauty in every day has helped tremendously. You can get through this we all can get through our darkest days if we believe and dig deep and fight it.
Cheers
Meg
